2017 Cricket Kindness Mission

 

  • The twin island nation of Antigua & Barbuda lies in the Eastern Caribbean in the Leeward Islands chain. Population 103,000
  • Antigua is a developing country with a proud cricketing history as birthplace to some of the greatest cricketers of all time; Sir Andy Roberts, Sir Vivian Richards, Sir Richie Richardson, Sir Curtly Ambrose and Ridley Jacobs.
  • In 2017, the Caribbean Children's Cricket Charity (as it was then known) extended the hand of generosity delivering 28 huge boxes of cricket gear to the beautiful children and teenagers of Antigua & Barbuda!

Our 2017 Cricket Goodwill Tour began with an uplifting morning at Five Islands Primary School. Joining our founder Tamara Lowe were Cricket Kindness Antiguan Ambassadors, Sir Richie Richardson, Ridley Jacobs & Sen. Colin James. Tamara traveled to Antigua at her own expense to realise her dream of supporting grass roots cricket in disadvantaged Caribbean communities unable to afford cricket gear.

Enormous kit distribution at the combined schools Saturday morning competition where Antiguan schoolboy cricketers were thrilled to receive playing shirts and cricket equipment shipped from Sydney to Antigua!  

 

Big shout out of thanks to Gordon District Cricket Club, Peninsula Cricket Club, West Pymble Cricket Club, Milo In2Cricket and McGrath Foundation for donating superseded shirts and bucket hats to our Gear Collection!



Meeting with Hon. E.P. Chet Green - Ministry of Sport, Antigua

Founder, Tamara Lowe attended a meeting with the then Minister of Sport, Honourable E.P. Chet Green in his office at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. Our Ambassadors, Sir Richie Richardson and Ridley Jacobs were present as the Minister expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the Government of Antigua & Barbuda.
